Google signal are said to be an elaborated form of giving importance to the webpages on the internet after the popular Google Page Rank. It is said in the article, posted at NY times that "for ranking pages, more than 200 types of information, PageRank is one of the signals. Some signals are on Web pages — like words, links, images and so on. Some are drawn from the history of how pages have changed over time. Some signals are data patterns uncovered in the trillions of searches that Google has handled over the years". “The data we have is pushing the state of the art,” “We see all the links going to a page, how the content is changing on the page over time.” Said by Mr. Amit Singhal who was recruited by Google in the year 2000 from AT&T.
I am impressed by Mr. Singhal's imagination as how the search is made powerful day after day. Also, I am happy about my sister who worked in Google for Adwords team, joined Google after working in AT&T, Atlanta in 2004.
