Manage SEO with Keyword Density and LSI

How important is Keyword Density and Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) for Content Optimizing on your Web Site?

Keyword density as you know is a combination of the number of times a keyword or a keyword phrase, in proportion with other words, appears on a Web page Copy. This is an important factor that need to be considered apart from many other SEO factors involved to rank a website discussed in detail here on my blog.

There are many tools out there on the Internet that can be used to look at the present density and strike a balance on it further. One such tool that I like the most is from SEOChat Keyword Density Tool as it provides accurate report including or excluding Meta tags.

In the recent case study that I made on my Client's website, there were unwanted and meaningless words were occupying the top density list, in between the other targeted keywords. This was the main concern for me.

Further more, maintaining the percentage of density was also an other concern. I had a very little time to take a decision on this as I have lost the positions of targeted keywords for my web site and gradual drop in the traffic to the web site.

I had decided to maintain a standard density as maximum of 7% for the Single word keywords and max of 2% for the Two words keywords and placed all the targeted and LSI (If you have to do some keyword research for your website, you can easily find the most valuable related keywords right in the search engines itself). These related keywords were inserted on headers and source, keywords in page elements, outgoing links and filtered words.

Finally, this concept had worked out with all the Websites for which I manage SEO.
