Latest Page Rank Update on Google Toolbar

Here are the effects of recent / latest Google Toolbar Page Rank Update by Google on Friday, 26th October 07, on the Internet. There are many factors that effect the Google PR for a website or a weblog on the Internet.

Google adjusted its organic PageRank algorithm in a way that resulted in a major drop in rankings for many sites, event the largeer ones such as Digicert.com and WashingtonPost.com among others. The algorithm shift that took place after a long time was a surprise, and also it was a major shock that prompted loud and sharp piercing cry from the SEO community after their client's sites started disappearing from Google's SERPs.

I am fortunate to say that, for my weblog there is a shift in the page rank from 0 to 1 and how on earth did I manage that? What extraordinary thing did I do? None, actually. I posted on my blog almost everyday and moreover I was having a good number of posts and also I had registered a domain and created my blog as sub-domain on the new domain and rewamped it both in regards to search engine visibility and in terms of general usability. This must be the way that Google liked during this new update.

I even observered this before, of course. Every time Google makes a change to its organic algorithm, SEOers scurry and panic as they try to figure out a new way to reverse engineer what Google is doing and then sell this solution to their extremely desirous clients. Even when armed with advance information that Google is scrutinizing their tactics, they fail to clean up their act and the result is the kind of hard blow we saw last week.

The relevance of any particular Website is an inherent quality that can only be faked for so long. You can't be any more relevant than you are, and you can't expect any temporary advantages you reap through link-trading or other unethical tactics to persist, because Google watches its index as closely as the security of the US president.

The worst thing is that the whole obsession with rankings and optimization has stopped SEO Community from thinking about the fundamentals of good Search marketing. If a Search Marketing effort should to be taken seriously, why dont you offer better product or service, A more relevant Web site, Better webpages, A lower price in the market etc.?

Unfortunately, the Search Marketing industry's obsession with visibility on Google Organic Search has blinded us to a very obvious facts, and I hope that the Clients who allowed themselves to be drawn in by the seductive pitches od the agencies have no one else to blame for following them into this ambush and seeing their traffic drop.
