Internet Marketing Trends

The most important Internet Marketing trends together with the fact that I can count the days left in 2007 on one hand, caused me to get deeply thoughtful. There is something about the turning of a calendar that causes one to clean up our inventory of lessons learned from the past year & half to till date and start goal setting for new year 2008.

That is why the New Year brings the inevitable "Best of" and "Top 5" lists, the year-end review and new-year preview. I have a chance to put the Search Marketing Trends in this context and say thank you for a few things that I have been blessed with in the past year, thanks to the Internet.

1. Meeting Passionate people at Search Camp Conference in Chennai:
Thanks for the organizers of Search Camp for allowing me to meet people who believe they can change the world of Internet Marketing. I have been extremely fortunate to add many of these people to my circle of acquaintances.

2. Universal Search:
Google rolled out universal search in May 16 2007 will offer users a more integrated and comprehensive way to search for and view information online. The company also introduced an updated homepage design and several new navigation features that make it faster and easier for users to find the information they are looking for.

3. Ad Spending in USA:
All statistics point to Google as the search engine people use the most. Not only is it by far the most-used search engine. That paid search's share is barely growing obscures the enormous sums going to this advertising format. US spending on search advertising will rise by more than $3.2 billion from 2006-2008 alone. 4. The Best way to Optimize Websites:
How to optimize a website in one of my previous posts on my blog is the top most way to achieve high rankings on Google and other search engines.

5. New Version of Google Analytics:
Google unveiled the new version of Google Analytics May 08, 2007 that presents data more clearly and in context, so one can look at a single report to gain insights rather than having to pull up several reports to understand what action to take.

There will be many more Search Marketing companies in South-Asia and particularly in India popping up with latest Internet Marketing trends and Search Strategies luring clients world wide is what I anticipate to be hot in '08.
