Football and Octopus

There is no wonder that Octopus (cephalopod) having a soft oval body with eight long tentacles can never imagine kicking a Football. But it is evident that Paul- The Octopus can predict the winners of the football matches very well as it is proved in this FIFA 2010 Season.

The matches were played in ten stadiums in nine host cities around the country, with the final played at the Soccer City stadium in South Africa's largest city, Johannesburg.

It was a great fun watching FIFA Finals match yesterday. This is an oportunity for me to dedicate this article to the lovely Paul - The Octopus.

In the final, though it started with lots of fouls and frustation, the European champions and second-ranked team, Spain defeated third-time finalists the Netherlands 1–0 after extra time, with AndrĂ©s Iniesta’s goal giving Spain their first-ever world crown in the FIFA world cup 2010.

This 2010 finals have amplified international public awareness of the vuvuzela, a long horn blown by fans throughout matches. However, many World Cup competitors have criticised and complained about the noise caused by the vuvuzela horns I loved watching the fans blowing them.
